Ah man, NOT AGAIN!

Well, we are back at the hospital again. As careful as we were, with not taking him out anywhere or seeing anyone other than the doctor and his parents, Truman managed to get RSV, a respiratory virus, and had to go back to the hospital.

At one of his pediatric appointments his oxygen levels were reading low even though he looked fine. So they checked it on different hands and feet and with a different lead, they all read the same and went up when the doctor gave him some oxygen. So it was off to Primary's in an ambulance again. Kaiti rode with him this time.

It looks like we will be here about a week this time. He is stable and just getting some extra help with oxygen up his nose. They also suction him out if he sounds like he is a little plugged with some mucus. He is a little bit tired from having to breathe harder and therefore doesn't have much energy to eat. He still gets most of his food through his feeding tube.

I'm sorry that he had to go back! I hope he gets better soon! If only hospitals gave out things like frequent flier miles or something, soon he'd get to stay for free or whatever the equivalent would be.

Hi Marc and Katie,

Congratulations on Truman's arrival. Though it's obviously been a rough start, he is clearly surrounded by people who love him and are giving him the very best care. Having just had my little guy 6 months ago I now understand the kind of love that a baby calls forth--unlike any other kind. You'd walk through hell for your baby and it probably seems like sometimes you are doing just that.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and that this will be over at some point and you'll get to have a hopspital free, normal life.

All the best to all three of you. Hang in there!
