This video is near and dear to my heart. Paul Cardall put this together to bring awareness to those who have or continue to struggle with congenital heart disease. Paul is currently waiting for a heart transplant and has been dealing with this disease all of his life. He is an incredible musician and his music is so beautiful and inspiring. One of his songs is actually the background music for this video. Our little Truman is featured at about the seven and a half minute mark. It is amazing to me to see how many little children have had to endure such a serious surgery at such a young age. Not that I thought we were the only ones, but it is comforting to see how many are doing so well at various ages. Please watch, but be warned, you may need a tissue or two at hand.

9 months!

Our little buddy is getting so big. He's weighing in at 21 pounds thirteen ounces and his length is 29.5 inches. This kid is definitely going to be tall. We're working on using a sippy cup right now, but Truman is not really interested in it. He prefers to be fed with the bottle if he is thirsty. If we give him a sip through a regular cup he does a pretty good job though. He is loving Cheerios right now too. I think he would just eat them all day if I let him. He's not crawling yet, but we're working on getting him in the position. Most of the time when I get him on his hands and knees he just cries, and then I feel bad. I think he is just on his own little schedule and doesn't want to be pressured. I know the feeling. I'm kind of like that too.
Truman is just a very good boy. Good sleeper, good eater, good giggler. What more could you ask for?

cardboard box. I had heard before I had a kid that they like to play with things like these, but I never thought it was true until Truman. So I guess Christmas will be pretty cheap this year.

It's hard being a boy......sometimes

Truman had a minor surgery on Tuesday. He was finally circumcised. I had wanted to do it when he was first born, but as we all know, there was too much going on for it to be considered. Since he has done so well in the past few months, the pediatrician decided he was stable enough to get it done. So, we were off to Primary's again. Thank goodness only for several hours this time instead of several weeks. Truman did great as he always does. He is such a little trooper. These pictures are before the surgery. He looked so cute in the little hospital scrubs they had us put him in. I just had to take some pictures. I'm pretty sure he knew exactly where we were and that whatever he was going to have done was not going to be fun, hence the worried look on his face.

He is doing great at home. We're just keeping him comfy as he heals. He gets Lortab every 4 hours and Motrin every six, so don't worry about him, he's gettin the good stuff.

New Blog

Hi Everyone. I have set up a new blog for myself. I am starting to find that I am at the computer alot looking for deals and trying to find ways to save money on everything. So, I'm kind of dedicating the blog to writing about those kind of things (good deals, homemade house goods, fun things to do with your family, and such). Just as fair warning. I have monetized it, so there are ads on there, but I don't think they are very distracting. Stop by if you feel like it.

Happy Monday!

Last Friday we went to Primary's for a Cardiology check up. It looks like Truman's heart is doing pretty well. His blood pressures were great and his EKG has pretty much stayed consistent. His cardiology team will continue to monitor his Bicuspid Aortic Valve because there is a potential for problems as he grows into toddlerhood, but nothing is of concern right now. His cardiologists were very impressed with his weight gain. I think the word "Chunk" was said a few times during the visit. Truman is doing well enough that we can now stretch the checkups to six months instead of three. So, we'll go back in November for an echocardiogram and will hopefully be able to see how that valve is doing. Until then we'll keep on smilin. Have a good day everyone
